It has been confirmed all cast members will be returning in season four in one way or another. Ryan Murphy has said everyone was invited back for season four, the entire cast has taken him up on that offer. Dianna Agron, Heather Morris, Naya Rivera, Darren Criss, Mark Salling, Chris Colfer, Amber Riley, Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz, and Harry Shum Jr. will be back. They’ll join Lea Michele and Cory Monteith for the highly anticipated fourth season of the hit comedy show.
Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch and Jayma Mays are also back. As well as Chord Overstreet rumored to be returning as a series regular.
“Glee” is taking a fresh approach in Season 4 — as a handful of beloved characters graduate, we’ll follow them as their paths take them away from McKinley High, but the high school glee club will remain central to the story.
Of course, broadening the scope of the show means it’s time to bring in new characters — and “Glee” bosses have put out a casting call for three new series regulars. (No word yet on whether established recurring guest stars like Chord Overstreet and Vanessa Lengies will be upgraded to series regular status.)
The first newbie they’re looking for is a male character in the early- to mid-twenties age range. Since he’s obviously too old for McKinley, we’re guessing he’ll come into play for one of the graduating characters. Needless to say, they’re looking for an actor who is also a fantastic singer.
Back at McKinley, a sixteen-year-old girl will be joining as a regular. The only requirements on the casting call? She’s got to be “pretty” — and she’s got to be able to sing.
The most intriguing fresh face, however, is Noah Puckerman’s 16-year-old younger brother. They’re looking for someone who is not only good looking and resembles Mark Salling, but who can play the guitar — just like big bro! Of course, we haven’t heard Puck mention his brother before, just a sister, so the dynamic between the Puckerman boys is anyone’s guess.
American Idol runner-up Jessica Sanchez will join the cast of Glee for a multi-episode arc, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Sanchez, who finished second behind Phillips Phillips, is expected to appear on the Fox hit midway through its upcoming fourth season; no details regarding her character, however, have been announced. She will most likely start following Idol’s summer concert tour.
Sanchez isn’t the only big name signed on for a guest role for this season, with both Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson also joining the show for small arcs.
TVLine has learned exclusively that Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Darren Criss, Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz and Naya Rivera are confirmed to headline the panel, which is set to take place in the Indigo Room on Saturday, July 14 from 6 to 7 pm PST. Additionally, Glee co-creator and executive producer Brad Falchuk will be on hand to preview the show’s fourth season.
The Glee Project’s first episode for season 2 will air on Saturday June 16 on Channel 10 at 6:30pm!
